I asked a question about the sacking of South Lanarkshire College’s Principal.
The college’s own disciplinary procedure was not followed and she has, disgracefully, been denied an appeal.
This is a basic right.
The local EIS-FELA branch had a vote of no confidence in the college board this week, the second time that’s happened.
Shirley Ann Somerville’s response is a disgrace. She has asked me to write to her. I will but she appears unwilling to step in.
This could end up costing the college a fortune – it already has – at a time when they can ill afford it. All colleges are looking at cuts. I will continue to ask questions and raise this when I can.
