Ferries are as vital to Scotland’s connectivity as are decent roads and the railways.
The government has to accept that things have not been done properly.
They must accept that there is merit in what we and others – including the REC committee – have been saying in that we need to a. invest more in ferries; b. award longer contracts so that operators could procure the vessels and c. consider whether we need CMAL.
This has become a party political football because of failings.
