Tory MSP Graham Simpson welcomes the impact of Warmer Homes Scotland on households in his constituency.
Over 1500 households in Mr. Simpson’s regional constituency of Central Scotland have benefitted from the scheme’s help since it was launched in 2015, each of them saving over £300 on their energy bills this year.
The £244 million Warmer Homes Scotland scheme provides a step-by-step service to help make homes warmer and more comfortable. Assistance can include installing new and efficient boilers, fitting new radiators, insulating lofts or even working with partners to install gas mains to make heating homes in hard to reach areas more affordable. All work is carried out by registered and accredited local sub-contractors, who work to rigorous quality standards across the country.
Warmworks is the management agent of Warmer Homes Scotland and receives referrals to the scheme from Home Energy Scotland.
Graham Simpson, MSP for Central Scotland said:
“I welcome the impact that Warmer Homes Scotland has made in my regional constituency.
“For too many families, living in fuel poverty is a harsh reality and it is great to know that they are now living in warmer homes with greatly reduced fuel bills.
“I was able to visit a constituent in East Kilbride and see the impact that the scheme has on her young family’s life.
“It’s tough enough to be a single mum to two young boys, but Warmer Homes Scotland has provided comfort and peace of mind to this constituent in that her and her family can afford to stay warm in their own home.
“I would encourage others to check if they are eligible to receive help under the scheme, as improvements could make a significant difference this winter and for years to come.
Simon Kemp, Business Development Manager for Warmworks said:
“Thank you to Graham Simpson for joining us on a visit to the home of a Warmer Homes Scotland customer in East Kilbride.
“This was Graham’s second customer visit since the scheme’s inception and we welcome his interest in the scheme and its impact on his constituents.
“We are delighted to have helped over 1500 households in Graham’s regional constituency and we hope to build on our efforts in the years to come.
