Central Scotland MSP, Graham Simpson has called on everyone to show their backing for Carers Week which runs until Sunday.
Mr. Simpson says carers have gone above and beyond during this unprecedented crisis and many more have taken on unpaid caring roles throughout communities to look after some of our most vulnerable citizens.
The Scottish Conservative and Unionist MSP has used the week to call on the SNP Government to recognise the role that many unpaid carers play on a daily basis and ensure that they have the resources to provide financial and wellbeing support to relatives and loved ones.
Carers work at this time should never be forgotten and the MSP says everyone owes them a huge degree of gratitude.
Graham Simpson, Scottish Conservative shadow communities secretary said:
“The last couple of months have been an unprecedented time for everyone, and I wanted to take this opportunity during National Carers Week to say thank you for all the sacrifices our carers have made.
"Our carers are heroes year-round, but they have truly have gone above and beyond during the coronavirus pandemic.
"I hope that in the aftermath of the coronavirus pandemic, the SNP Government will ensure that our carers have the resources in order to support those they love day in day out.
“We should all give our thanks during this week and all year round for our Carers and I will be continuing to look at measures to push for greater support to be given by the SNP Government to frontline workers.”
