Chancellor Rishi Sunak has awarded over £3 million from the UK Community Renewal Fund, to a range of employment and enterprise projects in Lanarkshire.
The funding will be used to engage local people and businesses, and increase skills and employability at the community level,
The six successful bids from Lanarkshire - which have been awarded £3,195,677 in total - are as follows:
- £823,576 to Elevator Entrepreneurial Ecosystem, North Lanarkshire - a network of support services aimed at increasing skills, employability and entrepreneurial awareness in local communities.
- £503,880 to Airdrie Central Community Engagement Project - a project which aims to help people in Airdrie Central who are unemployed or in insecure work.
- £238,701 to EmployMe North Lanarkshire - a project which aims to help unemployed disabled people to progress towards long-term employment.
- £203,641 to Lift Off and Accelerate - a project offering alternative learning models for young people aged 15-18 years with additional support needs.
- £754,532 to All In North Lanarkshire - a project which supports people experiencing barriers to work to find and retain employment.
- £874,988 to Elevating South Lanarkshire - a network of enterprise support services aimed at increasing skills, employability and entrepreneurial awareness in the local area.
The Community Renewal Fund was established to support people and communities most in need across the UK through projects seeking to invest in local communities or offer skills or support to improve job opportunities.
