A TORY MSP has condemned the SNP’s politically motivated stunt at a South Lanarkshire Council meeting.
At the Executive Committee, on 21 November, a motion was agreed to which called for a second EU referendum.
Mr Simpson said: "It is incredible that councillors are using valuable committee time to discuss a second EU referendum instead of examining how to improve vital local public services."
“SNP councillors have been elected by local people to do their job – and provide improved local services for our community. With voices from virtually every major sector of Scotland’s economy backing the Brexit deal, Nicola Sturgeon and her SNP councillors need to end their game-playing and listen to businesses in Scotland.
“We want to avoid a No Deal Brexit. By contrast, Nicola Sturgeon wants to create constitutional chaos and take us back into the hated Common Fisheries Policy.
"All the SNP cares about is independence. Nicola Sturgeon will do anything and say anything to advance her Indyref2 obsession. Only Ruth Davidson and the Scottish Conservatives are standing up to Sturgeon’s grandstanding on the constitution".
