I had a great visit with Sustrans Scotland around Glasgow looking at some of the local cycling infrastructure.
Sustrans Scotland provides advice, support and funding that makes it easier for people to walk and cycle for everyday journeys.
We went along the South City Way, Connecting Woodside and its nearby cycle lanes, the Claypits Nature Reserve, and Spaces for People temporary infrastructure across the city centre.
There has been a lot going on in the city. Some of the routes were brand new.
I used to live just off Maryhill Road - not too far from the canal - and that whole area has been transformed. Scottish Canals has been doing some great work on the Claypits reserve. Paths lead up to a fantastic viewpoint. It's going to be well-used.
We need cities and towns where everyone can thrive without having to use a car so I applaud Sustrans' work.
