Tory MSP Graham Simpson is calling for immediate action as NHS Lanarkshire’s A&E wait times are currently the worst in Scotland.
According to statistics released by Public Health Scotland, the latest weekly waiting times show that NHS Lanarkshire is down at 84.8% for hitting the Scottish Government’s target of 95% of patients being seen within four hours.
A&E wait times are the worst out of any health board in Scotland, sitting at over 10% below the Scottish Government’s 95% target.
Graham Simpson, Scottish Conservative transport spokesman said;
"The SNP need to be providing more resources to ensure that NHS Lanarkshire A&E wait times are improved. The current wait times are completely unacceptable, and the SNP need to answer for their failings.
"New COVID-19 clusters are being identified every day, all over the country and more needs to be done to ensure the safety and wellbeing of patients and our NHS healthcare heroes.
“The Scottish Conservatives will continue to call on SNP Ministers to do more to support our hard working NHS staff and improve waiting times for patients.
“We do not want to see these dismal wait times continue as a trend.
