Last week, Graham Simpson MSP visited the Forth Rail bridge. The visit was arranged by Balfour Beatty, who maintain the bridge.
Graham Simpson MSP said: "I got to go to the top of the Forth Bridge today. It opened in 1890 and was built with all British steel. It is awesome.
"It took us 90 seconds in a very secure hoist to get from ground level to the platform at the top of the Forth Rail bridge and we saw several of the 200 passenger trains that use the bridge each day below us as we looked down.
"The trains are currently all diesel, but there are plans to explore line electrification as part of the drive towards decarbonisation.
"Thanks to Balfour Beatty and Network Rail Scotland for a fantastic visit."
