In Lanarkshire and across Scotland, parents are facing an agonising wait for their children to receive a neurodevelopment assessment which is used to diagnose conditions such as autism.
I was recently contacted by a constituent who was told by NHS Lanarkshire that her son would have to wait 21 months for an initial meeting with a paediatrician. This did not include an additional delay of 2 to 3 years for an NDS assessment.
Today I asked the Minister responsible intends to reduce these waiting times and what support will be made available for struggling health boards.
