MSP for Central Scotland, Graham Simpson said: “I’m delighted that the UK Government and Scottish Government have jointly selected the Forth Green Freeport to be one of Scotland’s first Green Freeports.
“This impressive project, which encompasses Grangemouth in my constituency, will help to create exciting new jobs, boost business and encourage investment in the local areas and beyond.
“I was fortunate enough to meet with the team behind the bid at Grangemouth last April and saw some of the initial work which had already taken place in preparation for this project.
“There’s a lot to be excited about following this announcement and I’m looking forward to seeing the Forth Green Freeport develop – ultimately at the benefit of the local community”.
