MSP for Central Scotland, Graham Simpson said: "We're lucky to have some excellent community-minded football clubs in Lanarkshire and Hamilton Academical FC is one of those.
"I visited today and heard about some of the projects they run. One is a very successful scheme where they go into schools to tell youngsters about the perils of drugs.
"The feedback has been excellent and it's just the sort of project that we need to get behind.
"There's an Easter club at the moment, a food bank, a Men's Shed - they even have a beach hidden from view of most spectators. Yes, a beach! Well done Accies".
