Today I joined dementia experts and staff from the International Longevity Centre UK (ILC UK) to discuss their new report which highlights the importance of ensuring our high streets are dementia friendly.
Research from the Alzheimer's Society found 1 in 4 people with dementia give up shopping post-diagnosis and 63% believe shops are not doing enough to help people with this condition.
With 900,000 people in the UK currently living with dementia, making it easier for them to access shopping and leisure facilities will bring huge economic benefits and help reduce social isolation.
