MSP for Central Scotland, Graham Simpson has “warmly welcomed” the important work being done by Warmworks and Warmer Homes Scotland to support residents in North Lanarkshire.
Warmworks, who work with Warmer Homes Scotland to improve the efficiency of homes across the country, have supported 2,027 households in North Lanarkshire since it was launched in 2015.
Mr Simpson visited the Pringle family from Airdrie, along with Laura Couper from Warmworks, to see their recently installed boiler and central heating system following a recent referral by the firm.
The upgrades, which took just two days to install, were provided free of charge following a home energy check.
Mr Simpson, who raised awareness about Warmworks earlier in the year, said its “great” that schemes like this are available for local residents to utilise.
He added that everyone should check if they are eligible for the scheme via Home Energy Scotland’s website.
MSP for Central Scotland, Graham Simpson said: “I warmly welcome the positive impact Warmworks and Warmer Homes Scotland have made in North Lanarkshire.
“For too many families, living in fuel poverty is a harsh reality but it’s great to know that schemes like this are available for local residents to ensure their homes stay warm and their fuel bills low.
“It was great to be able to visit the Pringle family in Airdrie to see their new boiler in action and hear how their home is already retaining more heat.
“I would encourage others to check if they are eligible to receive help under the scheme, as improvements could make a significant difference now and for years to come”.
Laura Couper, Scheme Development Manager at Warmworks said: “I’m delighted to see the Pringle family are feeling the benefits of a new heating system installed through the Warmer Homes Scotland scheme.
“We’ve now supported more than 2,000 households across North Lanarkshire to make their homes warmer, more efficient and reduce their energy use.”
