MSP for Central Scotland, Graham Simpson said: "As the SNP inflict further misery on our councils through savage spending cuts, more community sport and leisure facilities are being forced to close.
"The Observatory for Sport in Scotland estimate we could lose up to 1,000 community facilities by 2025.
"Fortunately, the UK Government has stepped in and handed out £500,000 to 5 facilities in Lanarkshire through their Multi-Sport Grassroots Facilities Programme.
"I asked the Minister for Social Care, Mental Wellbeing and Sport what plans the SNP have to match this funding".
