MSP for Central Scotland, Graham Simpson has called on residents in Lanarkshire to check if they are eligible for a valuable warm homes scheme.
Warmer Homes Scotland, who have supported 12,162 people in the Strathclyde and Central region since it was launched in 2015, provide a step-by-step service to identify where energy efficiency improvements can be made in the home.
The scheme offers new central heating systems, including renewable heating technologies such as air source heat pumps, in every property type.
All of the work delivered under the scheme is carried out by registered and accredited sub-contractors who work to rigorous quality standards.
Mr Simpson, who has met locals who have benefited from the scheme in the past, was “delighted to learn” about the support Warmer Homes Scotland have provided residents in Lanarkshire recently.
He added that everyone should check if they are eligible for the scheme via Home Energy Scotland’s website.
MSP for Central Scotland, Graham Simpson said: “I’m delighted to learn that the Warmer Homes Scotland scheme has supported so many people in Lanarkshire to be warmer and more comfortable in their homes.
“The scheme offers grants to support the installation of energy efficiency upgrades that can help people across the region to stay warm, make their home more energy efficient and, in turn, help them to better manage their energy bills.
“I’d encourage everyone to check if they are eligible to receive help and I look forward to visiting some more local residents who have benefitted from the scheme later in the year”.
Warmworks’ Chief Executive, Ross Armstrong said: “The Warmer Homes Scotland scheme has been helping people right across Scotland to feel warmer and more comfortable in their homes for more than seven years.
“At a time when we begin to depend more on our heating at home, we’d encourage everyone across the Strathclyde and Central region to check their eligibility now for the Warmer Homes Scotland scheme by getting in touch with Home Energy Scotland on 0808 808 2282.”
