Today, MSP for Central Scotland Graham Simpson visited Caledonia Gladiators in East Kilbride. Caledonia Gladiators is the only professional basketball franchise in Scotland with two full-time professional teams who participate in the British Basketball League.
Their children's coaching programme supports almost 500 local children each week, and they have partnerships with a number of local schools and other sports clubs such as East Kilbride Football Club and East Kilbride Youth Club.
Graham Simpson MSP enjoyed a tour of their facilities in East Kilbride, which includes capacity for 1600 spectators.
Graham Simpson MSP said: "I visited Caledonia Gladiators earlier to hear about the growth of the game and pick up some coaching tips from CEO Tony McDaid. I hope to attend a match soon to see how it is really done."
